Fauna’s Thread – the project

Fauna’s Thread is now available as a Paperback and E-Book at Amazon Kindle via Amazon.

The idea for Fauna’s Thread began on my first-ever trip to see the Sandhill Crane migration—in central Nebraska USA.

As I sat in my car on a country road, watching them feed and frolic, they lifted off and flew through the sun.

Their shadows rolled over the road and drizzled on me, as their unique honks faded away…

Later that day,  I experienced them from inside a blind—on the river. It was there, where the true seeds of this story were born…

I set off on a research journey to learn more about the cranes, the river, and the stakeholders of the water.

Agriculture and ranches,

hydropower and recreation,

and people in many of the small towns along the river; all have a claim.

Script drafts were written, years passed, and my real job happened too often. The cranes kept dancing and my characters kept me motivated…

Colleagues who read the screenplay would say, “Maybe you should write this as a book.”

Fine.

Fauna’s Thread is now AVAILABLE as a Paperback and E-Book at Amazon Kindle via Amazon.

FYI over the past few years, curious things happened…

  • Contacts made from the creative process became newly interested in a collaboration.
  • The natural element at the crux of the story – WATER – became a more popular subject.
  • Environmental stories are more receptive to the masses.
  • New players in the producing world (including non-entertainment entities) are hungry for original content.

I am convinced more than ever this multi-layered story needs to become a motion picture. Moreover – a SERIES.
