Between Grand Island and North Platte, the river runs parallel to I-80 and occasionally zigzags under it. Be sure to drive into the local business district. You might cross over the Platte River to get there. Certainly you’ll see plenty of farmland, quonset huts, and grain elevators. In some towns, you can have breakfast or lunch in the shadow of agriculture.
